The Myrtle Beach Convention Center left no detail overlooked from brilliant sun filled concourses to commissioned marine life artwork, making our facility unique inside and out. The renowned environmental artist, Wyland was commissioned to paint one of his internationally famous "Whaling Wall" murals on the north wall of Exhibit Hall C the summer of 1993. Wyland is an accomplished painter, sculptor, photographer, writer, and SCUBA diver, and has traveled the farthest reaches of the globe capturing the raw power and beauty of the undersea universe.
Our “Whaling Wall” mural is 50 feet by 240 feet; and completed in one week by Wyland doing all of the painting himself. The mural features bottlenose dolphins, loggerhead turtles, and the Right Whale, an endangered species.
