- An event will not be considered definite until a License Agreement has been executed by both parties and the deposit has been received. (Typically 25% of the total rent is required).
- Second, Third and Fourth Priority Events may be scheduled on a prospective basis until that time when a License Agreement may be presented. Until A License Agreement has been presented it is within the facility's rights to schedule First Priority Events for the same dates. With your assistance and flexibiltiy, we will do our best to accommodate all events wanting to lease the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
- The Convention Center will make every reasonable effort not to book similar in nature and competing for a specific local attendee market either 30 days before or 30 days after a previously scheduled event. Examples include boat shows, automobile shows, home products, etc.
- First Priority Events may be required to present documentation showing that the appropriate number of hotel rooms are being contracted in order to retain a first priority event status. Should an event no longer be eligible for first priority status, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center reserves the right to schedule other events that do meet the requirements for first priority consideration.
- Our ability to schedule events using our convention center for the first time in no way implies a guarantee that similar space or dates will be available in any future years. Events wanting to return should contact a convention center sales representative and request date availability and a license agreement. It is recommended that event planners submit requests for date availability in written form to improve our accuracy in scheduling your next great meeting.
- The responsibility to verify hotel rooms contracted for any event belongs to the event's sponsor. This can be accomplished with historical information on hotel room consumption available through Convention and Visitor Bureaus and hotels at previous destinations, or by a survey commissioned to a third-party entity, in which specific quetions are included, verifying the degree of economic impact occurring as a direct result of the event.
The Myrtle Beach Convention Center is a facility owned and operated by the City of Myrtle Beach. Its intent is to attract events that will generate spending in business establishments throughout the city. In our efforts to create the greatest economic impact possible we take all of these scheduling priorities into consideration.
Please let us know if you have any questions regarding our scheduling priorities.
